The First Scenery : Young Guksa Temple
Cheontaesan Mountain, 715m altitude is outstanding natural scenery and
well preserved natural landscape including easy find hike course which is long
times loved by mountain hikers and also welcome to family camping people.
Yangsan Best 8 Scenery is starting at Young Guksa Temple positioning at beautiful
valley at this Cheontaesan Mountain. There are some cultural heritages around
this mountain. There is magnificent old ginkgo tree at entrance road to Young
Guksa Temple taking care of Young Guksa temple as well as Cheontaesan Mountain more
than 1300 years old which has been registered as Natural Monument No. 233. This
temple has been founded and constructed by the Wongak Daesa - Great Master Monk
- at the 8th years of Mummu King in Shilla Dynasty. Youngguk means

The Second Scenery : Gangseondae Pavilion
There is an outstanding rock at Geumgang River flowing along with Songho
Ri – Village which is 13 km at West from Yeongdong District. We called this
rock as Gangseondae which means Sinseon – Taoist hermit with miracle powers – came
down to this rock for enjoying fantastic around landscape and scenery. They
built so nice octagonal pavilion on the rock where tourist could easily and conveniently
visit and appreciate around beautiful scenery at the Gangseondae as see at the
attached photo. Following legend is related with this Gangseondae. Taoist fairy
one day at summer asked her mom I would like to get down somewhere nobody see
and take relax and bath. Her mom nodded and said “You look down. There is a
rock seat along with beautiful pine trees in the river. You may take a bath at
there in the river”. Her daughter looked down where her mom indicated and saw a
beautiful Gangseondae with old pine trees along with Geumgang which is rolling
with sunshine reflection looks like reflection of fish skin under shinny sun
light. So she came down to Gangseondae with joyful yell. She was so deeply
immersed to great landscape for a while and scarcely open her eye for a while
and look at east where green leaves are flying over the air and become green
foggy, calling as Cheonmasan Mountain, Mukheomssan Mountain at west looks like
almost covering the sky, Bibongsan Mountain at south flying around with five colorful
clouds and Manisan Mountain at north looks like eye borrow wriggling between
mountains. She was so deeply soaking into these magnificent landscapes which
she felt this place is similar to that at her resident at the sky. She was to
start to take a bath at Songhori sand beach under undressed. There is
Yongbawi-Dragon Rock-nearby which saw so beautiful Fairy that he could take
other mind and started to step forward. While the Fairy could not recognize his
movement since she was so highly immersed to natural scenery for a moment but surprisingly
getting the scene of Dragon movement and hurry up dressing and rush frying over
the sky
The Third Scenery : Bibongsan Mountain
Bibongsan Mountain is soaring and situated at Gagokri village which you
could look down Geumgang River and Yangsan City. This mountain was a border
between Shilla Dynasty and Baekje Dynasty which called as different name like
Gocheungsan Mountain or Namsan one time. This mountain was later changed its
name as Bibongsan Mountain as Phoenix was flying. Best scenery is not a
mountain but sun set scenery as see at the photo. .
The Fourth Scenery : Bongwhangdae Pavilion
Bongwhangdae is situated at Suduri village along side with the Geumgang
River where phoenix was living one day according to legend. When you look down
Geumgang River at the Bongwhangdae, you could naturally realize so peaceful and
neat around unpolluted natural view which would hit your hear with something.
The Fifth Scenery : Hambakjeong Pavilion
Hambakjeong Pavilion was built on the big rock in 1897 which you could
meet as you walk about 500m alongside Geumgang River to upper stream. This
pavilion is the best location where you could look at best scenery of sun set
at Bibongsan Mountain. There is a story as you could endlessly hear so
beautiful bird singing when you are there and where many scholars used to come
there for poet and study.
The Sixth Scenery : Yeoeujeong Pavilion
Yeoeujeong Pavilion is positioned at pine forest in Songho National
Tourist Site in Yeongdong Gun-District which was founded by Park, Eungjong who
was one time provisional vice governor and came down there not only for
relaxing and entertainment after resigning the governor but also for taking
care of next generation education.
The Seventh Scenery : Japoong Seodang –
Old Traditional School
Japoong Seodang was built by Lee, Choongbeom, and Confucian Scholar at
Geumgang River side early Joseon Dynasty which was sefrveral times repaired and
took a maintenance later. They called at beginning as Poonggok Dang and changed
its name by Jeonggu Scholar in 1614 as present name as Japoong Seodang. Best
Scenery is not this old school but student’s reading sound at the school in
fact.
The
Eighth Scenery : Yongam Rock
As explained above article second “Gangseondae
Pavilion”, this rock has been outstanding at the middle of Geumgang River near
to Gangseondae Pavilion where the Fairy took a bath and so deeply immersed to
around antral landscape and scenery. This was not rock but male dragon which
had been drilled for ling time for flying over to sky and finally failed to fly
over to sky and solidify with present rock according to legend.
