Well Organized Formal Korean Restaurants in Seoul - Information


There are so many Korean restraints in Seoul which they are mostly common menu for popular and updating new generation’s hobby or taste. We are introducing following Korean restaurants are serving menu with traditional style and modern demand. 1.    Kwonsuksu Restaurant – Cheongdam Dong

2.    Hanilgwan Restaurant – Akgujeong Dong
It is very particular to most people living in Seoul long time since they went there at the Hanilgwan together with parent or friends or relatives whenever they were at special day like graduation or entrance ceremony or passing competition examination. We remember typical menu was Bulgogi barbeque which was widely and commonly taking. They were opened in 1939 which is more than 70 years old. Bulgogi Barbeque is cooking still as the same as before like cooking on the dining table with conical pan on the charcoal and powering marinated meat on top and meat soup at lower surrounding area at bottom of the pan. We were normally eating first and sweet juicy soup accumulating at lower area. We usually take this juicy soup with rice later. I think most somewhat old Seoul people provably clear remember this story. But they developed Korea traditional menu as see at the phot which in inclusive of many different dishes other than Bulgogi Barbeque. 3.    Choonsamwol Restaurant at Mapo Gu
Choonsam Samwol means Spring in March in moon calendar. It is owner’s motto or philosophy they are going to serve suitable food or menu to current each season. In this regards, Principal Menu has been changed weekly base but variety of many side dishes is keeping as a Korean traditional food concept. It is the most topic at the typical menu they are serving salting king prawn with soya source which is smoothly melting in mouse even without chewing and used to use delicious source or additives to other dishes. All dishes are principally traditional style cousin but sometimes fusion menu is available like chicken breast salad. Owner, Mr. Gwak Giwhan said he preferred to use modern word instead of fusion word because there are many international food at normal Korean home and started to apply these kinds of modern food at his menu. It seems he arranged his restaurant with modern concept like simple internal arrangement or single glass window looking down to street view. They are still keeping traditional method cooking rice with heavy cast iron caldron which are very rare we could see at the restaurant or home now day.
4.    Yangbandaek Restaurant at Insa Dong
This restaurant is a character which we could easily take formal Korean menu with affordable or acceptable money. They are not luxurious or deluxe style but concentrating at basic service menu like Japchae (starch noodle with vegetables), hot and lightly sweet Nakji Bokgum ( boiled down octopus), Bulgogi Barbeque and so on.
This restaurant has been one time appointed as a best service restaurant in Korea. Owner has wear so beautiful traditional woman dress well doing careful service to visitors which is not felt as a burden and looks a this is real kind service to customers.

5.    Jung Restaurants at Cheongdam Dong
We call this restaurant is playing an motivated role encouraging Korean unique menu to foreigners who were not interested in, you may somewhat feel it too grandiose. They opened their restaurant at Shinsa Dong in Seoul in2009 and at New York in 2011 respectively which was awarded for Misyuraeng 2 prize and awarded for Asia Best Restaurant 50 in 2014 which was an only Korean restaurant ranked within 20th grade and ranked as 10th this year. Owner of this restaurant is a chef at the restaurant which they are prosing three optional at each course menu, choice menu referring to owner’s practical chef experience.

6.    Mingadahyeon Restaurants at Jongro Gu
This restaurant has been appointed as national cultural properties where we could enjoy Korea traditional food. This house is the first modernized Korean house which was built by Park, Gil Ryeong and first modernized architecture in Korea where Min, Byeunguk who was next generation of Myeongseong Queen at Joseon Dynasty used to do saloon business at that time. Most menu at the restaurant are fusion menu between western and oriental like Dukbaegi Haejangguk (Hangover soup at Clay Jar), Pasta, Songro Mushroom, grilled tooth fish with soya sauce, fried rice with turmeric and boiled down abalone, beef rib steak and etc. which looks good harmony between western food and oriental food  We believe this harmony drew both attraction between western and oriental where many foreign diplomat or commercial men staying in Seoul in Korea have frequently paid a visit to this restaurant duento this attraction. There are other facilities than dining room like indoor café and library and outdoor terrace. Therefore you could take a look around these fsacilities after meal.
