Seoul Trail 4-2 Course –Woomyunsan Mountain

December 14, 2017 11:30 ~14:30. Total Distance was 7.6KM and taking total 3 hours including break. Highest temperature was -1.9 oC and lowest -6.6 oC. It was very cold day even freezing temperature at day time.

I left home earlier than normal departure time about 30 minutes but unexpectedly lose one and half an hour because I took a wrong subway line unconsciously and thought some others and went some other wrong station than Yangjae Station in Line 3 changing from Line 9 at Express Terminal Station. It might be one of the reasons I am getting old, naturally losing smart, concentration and sharpness. However I decided only to cover 4-2 Couse today taking into account losing time. It was my original plan covering 4-2 and 5-1 Course today. I have been so far writing my Trail Essay or Mountain Climb Essay at Blogger for about 4 months and found there were some points which I should try to improve. I am going to try to reflect this improving piint at my Blogger time by time.

I finally dropped at Yangjae Citizen’s Forest(YCF) Station in Shinbundang Line and crossed to Yangjaechun Bridge and reached starting point of 4-2 Course. I tried to walk fast to recover losing time this morning as much as I could do and quickly moved besides Youn Bong Gil Memorial Hall and left turned at three way junction of Children’s Play Ground. I walked some more and exited YCF and turned left and walking alongside Yangjaechun for short while. I reached Yangjae Elementary School Junction after crossing the Bawoomue Bridge and continue to walk to KT Research Center Junction and climbed Woomyunsan Mountain after Crossing the KT Junction. I met Halla Apartment Junction saying 7.3KM to Kwanaksan Entry (KSE) after about 20 minutes walking and reached Kwanmunsa Junction saying 6.9KM to KSE after some more walking. When I further climbed up about 10 minutes, I found Somang Tower Junction saying Course Sign (CS) as 5.8KM to KSE. I walked about 10 minutes more and met CS saying as 400m to Seoul Art Center. I walked about half an hour and met Samsung Remain Apartment Junction saying as 4.77KM to KSE and turned left at three way junction at Toilet Break after about 10 minutes more walking. I walked some more down through tamarack forest and reached Somang Tower Junction again saying as 3.7KM to KSE. When I climbed up more, I met unnamed Stone Tower and started to downhill after the Stone Tower and reached Boducksa Junction indicating as 3.6KM to KSE. When I further downhill, I reached Namtaeryung Junction saying as 2.9KM to KSE. When I continue to downhill about 20 minutes, I found CS saying as 700M to Sadang Station where comparably easy to reach just following red ribbon or CS while passing Bangbae Vill

Seoul Trail 4-1 Course – Daemosan, Guryongsan, Nugin Suwon (NSW) and Yangjae Citizen’s Forest (YJF)

December 11, 2017 10:30 ~15:30 Hour. Total distance was 10.3km including 7.2km to NSW and 3.2km to YJF and taking a total five and half an hour including break. Lowest temperature was -7.0 OC and highest temperature -2.5 OC which was cold even at daytime.

Temperature was remarkably and suddenly dropped from the morning in relation with Yesterday’s snow, 4.1mm. When I came out home in the morning, I felt very chilly and cold outside, provably cold weather started in the morning. I prepared Eisen and Walking Stick taking into account possible difficult and hard to walk Trail Course today due to ice or freezed snow.

The 4-1 Course was to continuously climb up the Hill at beginning and downhill afterward in general. There were several area freezing and slippery which I could not walk without Eisen. While it was most times on the normal pass that I could walk without Eisen. Therefore I changed 4~5 times fixed and later removed Eisen on my shoe not only which cause finger getting chilly but also became more and more hard to change Eisen several times under cold weather. I was getting irritated for these change and imagined or thought there would be possible solution to do these change more easily without removing the gloves. But I took many phots on the Course without removing the gloves because there was special cloth sticked on index finger which can transmit human heat to mobile phone screen, no need to remove the gloves for taking a photo.

When I exited Gate 6 at Suseo Station in Line No 3, it was severely cold and windy outside. I moved to Course Staring Point behind Bus Stop and checked 4-1 Course information before starting to climb up Daemosan Mountain (293m). I then slowly climbed up the Daemosan at 10:30 hour in the morning. There was Daemosan Peak junction at Course Sign (CS) 6km to Nungin Sunwon (NSW), religious organization for promoting and educating Buddhism to the people. The Course was slightly downhill after the Junction and climbed up again the hill after passing 1st Mineral Water Spring. The Course was to downhill after left turning at CS 4.39km to SNW and further downhill to reach 2nd Mineral Water Spring. The Course was to meet three way junction without CS or red ribbon and to face bigger oak tree in the middle of three way junction. You should turn right at the junction and met Buguksa after some more downhill where CS 3.9km to NSW. When you climb up some more, you would meet Check Point for prevention from possible mountain Fire. You could started to downhill again and meet CS 2.3km to NSW and reach NSW after passing CS 1.5km to NSW where one of biggest Buddha statue in the world behind the NSW. The CS was to change destination to Yangjae Citizen’s Forest (YJF) from NSW saying as 3.18km to YJF. You would meet somewhat steep wooden stairs and further uphill to CS 2.8km to YJF. The Course was to downhill from Guryong Mountain (306m) after the CS and eventually reaches Seongnam Daero after four and half an hour from the Start. The Course was to extend Yangjae Stream as soon as crossing pedestrian Overpass. You could walk the road at Yangjae Stream and smoothly exited to YJF when you walked about half an hour from joining to Seongnam Daero. When you cross the Maiheon Road after YJF, you would meet destination, Course 4-1 today.
