6. Detailed Course
Information
It was a somewhat cloudy in the morning on Nov 12,
2018 and wonder if it would possibly rain. I was staying at Galisan Forest Recreation
Center Lodge where about 100km away was to Seoul direction and came over to
first destination to Cheongganjeong at Goseong District around 9 o’clock in the
morning on Nov 12, 2018 and started to tour the Cheongganjeong Pavilion. I
parked the car at Cheongganjeong Parking Lot, free parking fee and walked to
the Cheongganjeong through clean stone stairs and saw Cheonggan River at right which
was joining to the East Sea. I felt very fresh air which comes from cool East Sea
as well as sounding old pine trees. I walked up about five minutes air from and
reached Cheongganjeong and walked up to first observation floor and looked down
vast rolling East Sea and joining junction between Cheonggan River and East Sea
where many birds were playing or enjoying there at the junction. I saw also so
nice looking beach at right where sun reflecting light on the sea. Please see
this picture at Photo as well as video linked at above article 2. I thought it
should be much better view if I cross the Cheonggan River and look the Cheongganjeong
at river side and came down and crossed the river by the bridge and approached
to appropriate location where I could take nice photo and video as attached. I
was a bit hurry up to move to next destination, Yangyang Naksansa Temple as soon
as I finish Cheongganjeong tour since weather looks becoming worse. I drive the
car to south from Cheongganjeong for about 20 minutes and reached Yangyang
Naksansa Temple Parking Lot and walked to right direction at the Parking Lot
and moved a bit and met junction between stairs way at left as a short cut and longer
road at right including handicapped people road. I took a left road and passing
over the stairs and joined main or ordinary walking course road and continued
to walk for about 10 minutes and met Naksansa Information where story as Uisangdaesa,
national monk at Shilla Dynasty in year 671 came here and drilled himself at somewhat
at cave at sea side and received Buddha message indicating location where he
should build the temple, Naksansa Temple. This temple had been destroyed by
Mongol invasion or burning and rebuilt time by time at that time. I entered
into Naksansa Temple Area and tried to find main temple hall, Wontongbojeon and
looked around other affiliated temple halls. I moved out the Wontongbojeon and
turned left heading to Haesugwanuimsang- Sea Side Outdoor Buddha and learned
there was Dream Comes True Road on the way to the Outdoor Buddha and prayed in
my mind I could live longer under workable condition, not simple extension of
human life. I was shortly walking for about 5 minutes on the road and reached the
Outdoor Buddha which taller 16m high and about 700 ton granite stone. Please
see the photo and video. I backed to the Parking Lot after about 40 minutes
tour and walking from the starting. I drive the car to further south direction
for about one hour and reached Gangneung Kyeongpodae Parking Lot and moved to Kyeongpodae
Pavilion through smooth hill road for some more 5 minutes and reached Kyeongpodae
Pavilion where we could look down so great view of Kyeongpo Lake and saw inner and
outer view of Kyeongpodae as [photo attached. I was visiting Kyeongpodae several
time and felt different feeling every time depend on my aging history. The same
picture is deferent feeling according to different age step like 30th
age or 40th age or 50th age or 60th age and
even more than 70th at present. Anyway I returned Parking Lot after
less than 20 minutes tour and looking around. It was starting rain and decided
to stop the tour today and returned temporary home, Galisan Forest Recreation
Center Lodge and continuing remaining tour again on Nov 14, 2018. It was raining
again on Nov 14, 2018 and made a decision leaving for first destination, Samcheok
Jukseoru today and found rain became heavier when I drive down. I recognized
rain would become heavier time by time and looked for proper car stopping area and
checked weather forecast again and found rain would stop sometime after noon
today. I changed plan driving down first Wolsongjeong, most far away and checked
again estimated time and learned it might be around 10 o’clock morning. That
means I had to wait for rain stop for about more than 2 hours for nothing.
Therefore I changed the driving course again to Deokgu Hot Spring where it
would take only one hour to Wolsongjeon. I so enjoyed hot spring about one and
half an hour and came out the hot spring and found rain was stopped. I moved to
Uljin Wolsongjeong around 12 o’clock and saw there was nice coffee shop at the
middle of the parking lot and checked Information and learned as there were hundred
or thousand pine trees planting around the Wolsongjeong Pavilion which looked
like boating on so beautiful emerald green and blue East Sea. When you look the
Wolsongjeon in front, you could see Wolsongjeong along with rear side rolling
vast East Sea. They counted how many pine trees around Wolsongjeon and
confirmed there were 10,000 Geumgang Pine Trees- Gold Pine Tree and
38,000-ordinary pine trees at the forest in Wolsongjeong area. I looked around
view of Wolsongjeon Pavilion and around pine tree forest and East Sea and Beach
at rear side of Wolsongjeong and backed to the Parking Lot within less than20
minutes from the start. Please see attached relevant photo herein. I drive to North direction for less than half
an hour and reached Uljin Manyangjeong Pavilion and moved up to the Pavilion
where I could look down wonderful rolling up and down East Sea. There are many
other Manyangjeong – similar or same name but different. Please essentially
check if Manyangjeong Old Site. I checked the information and learned this
pavilion had been eroded and destroyed. Pyeonghae Governor recently rebuilt the
Pavilion in 1471. I took a look Mangyangjeong Pavilion less than 10 minutes. As
I drive car to North direction for about one hour, I came Samcheok Jukseoru
Parking Lot and walked to Entrance Gate and saw Jukseoru Pavilion in front of
the Entrance Gate. I approached the Pavilion and entered into Jukseoru
Observation floor. I looked down to Oshipcheon River behand the Pavilion and
found very unique scenery since this Pavilion is only one situating at cliff of
Oshipcheon River. All other Pavilion were situating or facing to East Sea.
There were several white cranes enjoying at the river side which made me felt
so peaceful or real nature view. I turned head to front garden and recognized
fantastic harmony with trees like maple trees or bamboo trees and others as see
at the photo. I learned entrance was not in front but at left as see at the
photo attached. Whenever we saw the sign board naming pavilion, we could always
interpret that way was entrance at the Pavilion. I could back to the Parking
Lot less than 20 minutes tour.
