International marriages between Koreans+ Foreigners

The country with the highest number of international marriages among Korean men is Vietnam, followed by China and Thailand . According to Statistics Korea, Vietnamese women marry Korean men the most, a trend that has been rapidly increasing in recent years. Conversely, while many Korean women remarry Vietnamese men, the overall proportion of international marriages between Korean women and foreign men is lower than that between Korean men and foreign women. 

According to the latest statistics as of 2026, the countries in which Koreans marry international partners show distinct differences by gender. The rankings by country, based on data released in 2024 and 2025, are as follows:

1. Ranking of Korean men and foreign wives

The nationalities of foreign wives that Korean men marry most often are from Southeast Asian countries.

1-1) 1st place: Vietnam: Maintains an overwhelming 1st place with 32.1% of all foreign wives.

1-2) 2nd place: China ranked second with about 16.7%.

1-3) 3rd place: Thailand: Followed by 13.7% evil.

2. Ranking of Korean women and foreign husbands

The nationalities of foreign husbands that Korean women marry are mostly distributed among English-speaking countries and neighboring countries.

2-1) 1st place: USA: The country with the highest proportion of evil foreign husbands at 28.9% of all foreign husbands.

2-2) 2nd place China: Ranked 2nd with approximately 17.6%.

2-3) 3rd place: Vietnam: This country accounts for about 15% and appears to have recently risen in the rankings.

Average Age: In multicultural marriages, the average age of husbands at first marriage was found to be 33.9 to 37.1 years old, and the average age of wives at first marriage was found to be 29.7 to 31.6 years old.
