Bukhansan Trail Course 13 ~ 14 - Seoul, Korea

October 23, 2017 from 11:00 to 15:00 hours, Total distance is 7.6 km (Songchoo Village Road 5.3 km
and Sanuemi Road 2.3 km) and taking about 4 hours. As usually use public transportation method,
I took off at Course 13 starting point, Sukgulam and Wooeiryung bus stop and walked along side at
main road No. 21 where I found some trees at sidewalk are likely color changing their leaves soon and
extending to quite forest pass at the hill taking fresh air and atmosphere, I naturally realized the reason
why many people like to trail or picnic to this Songchoo valley, beautiful and neat and tidy and refresh
feeling. I passed this Songchoo Valley and reached Bukhansan Support Center near to Songchoo Village
where I found clean and well organized parking loot with nice colorful tree around the Parking Lot. I
believe this Parking lot should be convenient and useful for their mountain climbing or trailing of
Bukhansan mountain. When I further walked the course 3 following the root  and met Kalbawi in front
of my head as well as Course 14 "Sanuemi Road" start while I keep heading to Wongoksa Temple.
I felt Wongaksa is small and not well known temple to people and Buddhist. But mood at the temple
is not much contaminated due to too many visitors and may keeping nature of old and traditional ambiance.
However it looks so good and impressive and seems almost not running temple. I took a lunch near to
Course 14 Start gate and start to walked highest Course at complete 21 Courses climbing up to sixth ridge
of Sapae Mountain and somewhat steep slope. But I blew out some stress accumulating during ordinary life
when I walked through unpolluted thick forest during the Course. I looked down view of Uijeongbu city
at View and Photo Point and took a nice picture.

Bukhansan Trail Course 11 ~ 12 - Seoul, Korea

October 21, 2017 10:00 ~ 14:00 hours, distance is total 7.2 km ("Devoted Son Road" 3.5 km and "Faithful Loyalty Road" 3.7 km) including about one hour for lunch during the course. Course 11 is an extension to 10 " Eunuch Grave Road" where walking along side Bukhansan Main Road. I walked the road some while and changed direction to right from the main road and clime up small mountain pass where I could see somewhat dense and neat forest and feel fresh air deeply spreading to my whole body. I came across strange Y shape oak tree standing at middle of the road and think this is one of typical example how KNPS likes to keep nature conservation. This Course 11 is extended to 12 after Bukhansan Support Center at Bamgol. There are tow or three main "Reserved Army Drill Field" in Course 12. This is one of probably main reason why they put the Course name as " Faithful Loyalty Road". It seems these is no particular comments on this road.

Bukhansan Trail Course 8~10 - Seoul, Korea

October 16, 2017 from 11:00 to 15:00 hours. It was my original plan to trail Course 8 calling as " Garden Road at Cloud" to 9 calling as " Mashil Road". But Korean Style House at Jinkwangdong at the Course 9 was so cool and great that I could not almost realize passing the Course 9 and already steped to Couse 10 so calling as  " Eunuch Grave Raod". Korean Style House are located at neat and tidy place and build with traditional uniqe fasion and minimizing morden fasion. Parking is arranged at some parking lot, somewhat away from Koean Style House so as to minimize morden fasion to traditional Korean Style House. There is alomost no parking at individual home and rather gathering car parking at suitable parking area at the Village. I was supposed to walk main road at the Couse 10 after exiting the Village at Course 9 which is completely different atmosphere from Course 9. But Course 10 was leading me to walk forest hill after about half an hours walking where I was very impressive with neat and quite forest pass and felt my metal and phisical was well healling under this so cool forest.

Bukhansan Trail Course 5 ~7-Seoul, Korea

October 13, 2017 from 10:00 to 15:30 hours, partly cloudy and sunny. It was my original plan I trail Course 5 to 6 today but I should add next Course 7 since there were no appropriate break place and toilet during Course 6, so calling " Pyunchang Village Road". This Course 6 is routed with almost all paved village road which raise mentally and physically soon tiered. If I know this situation before trailing, I would skip this Course and jumping to the Course 7. However I started to walk to Course 5, so calling as " Contemplation Road". But I could not see the reason why they put the Course name as Contemplation since atmosphere is not proper to use Contemplation. It was noisy and no quite forest because of vehicle noisy, not far from main road. But I eventually found quite forest location where I could hear beautiful bird singing and quite green forest somewhere middle of the Course 5. Please try to see the video attached to the Link. As stated before, there was neither proper rest place but also toilet during entire Course 6. I just continue to move fast for quick pass the Course due to busy toilet problem and finally solve this busy problem Googi Tunnel area where Course 6 is finishing. But I have to take care of lunch problem since I could not take a lunch at Course 6, no break and rest place. Therefore I decided to continuously walk Course 7 where I could probably find a proper place for lunch still keeping in my backpack. As expected, I found a good place for lunch and joined to other trailing couple for lunch together at the same dining table, fact sharing the table because only one dining table. I learned from this couple when we install the Bukhansan Trail App to mobile phone and switch "On" at "Auto Play" through App control, this App automatically play wherever they pass and approach several KNPS Hot Spot Zone during the each Course, automatically playing for the explanation of each topic point. Voice is made with beautiful lady so that encouraging tiered feeling. But I think this voice is unfortunately not servicing in English but Korean only at the moment. I am personally planning suggesting Servicing in English soon.

Bukhansan Trail Course 3~4 - Seoul, Korea

I determined to take Bukhansan Trail Course 3 to 4 on October 12, 2017 and started to trail the course from 10:00 and finished at 14:00 hours. I reached the Course 3 easily and simply in compliance to guide information at KNPS site (Korea National Park Service) how to connect the public transportation. It is fundamental impression that most trail courses are well organized how to find the correct way with clear identification or marks where I should go at the two or three way junction. They call the Trail Course 3 as a White Cloud Road since we can look down white cloud at the sight view point during the Course 3. It is common and general most stairs are made by wood  during the Courses. But almost stairs are made with beautiful round shape stone at this Course as you see at the picture and very unique and particular. Baekwoondae is far way view from the Photo View Point as you see at picture attached. I continuously trail course 3 and meet Course 4 as called as Solsam Road in the Eco Experience Center where I could find fishes at small pond located at somewhat elevated point in the Course. It was a total 6.1 km distance for two Courses and very impressive and good memory. I have delightfully enjoyed the Courses and a good lunch near to the Balaetue where is a good view and located at end of Course 3.

Bukhansan Trail Course 1~2 - Seoul Korea

Bukhan Mountain is located North East in Seoul elevating 837 m above sea level covering three well known mountains, namely Beakwoondae, Ensubong and Mankyungdae. Therefore we call sometimes Samgaksan which means triangle mountain. Bukhansan Trailing Course is a total 71.8 km distance and divided  with total 21 different courses which means about 3.1 m average distance. Please see some more at http://english.knps.or.kr/Knp/Bukhansan/Intro/Introduction.aspx?MenuNum=1&Submenu=Npp. I left my home at 09:00 hours with lunch box prepared by my forever partner, wife on October 11, 2017 and reached the mountain Course 1 about 11:00 hours and started to do trailing. I took a decision covering Course No. 1 and 2 today which is total 5.4 km distance, course No. 1 called as a Sonamusup Trail about 3.1 km and No.2 called as a Pilgrimage Trail about 2.3 km and felt these trail Courses are well organized with easy understandable land mark or ribbon and proper rest or break point. I trailed some other courses like Pyunghwa Nuri Course, Baewoonsan Course and so on. But I felt and impressed these Bukhansan Course is a far different and much upgraded.  I took a delicious lunch at convenient place, Sonamu Forest Park under natural forest atmosphere for lunch  during the first course.  I well recovered with sweet rest and so delicious lunch and passed Bokwangsa, temple and  National 4.19 Revolution Cemetery and continued and completed Course 2. It seems total 3 hours including lunch time. But I could not feel so tired and energetic so that can carry on Course No. 3. But I decided to finish today for tomorrow schedule.
