These entire listed
destinations were made in reference to relevant old records which are some
changed according to country development. Therefore many updated lists are
introduced here and there reflecting these development and people’ preference
change. But I would like to keep the original list and see how and what they
changed. I will continuously update this list reflecting my survey or study
based on old list and going to survey best destinations in accordance with this
list and updating time by time.
There is broadly 8th
Best Scenery in Korea which divided into local 8th or 10th
or 12th Best Scenery according to each local area as below. They
mainly used to pick up 8th scenery for introduction of local best scenery
which we could not find clear answer to the question why they choose 8th
scenery. They have sometimes used to refer this scenery as their proud of their
village or town or city.
1. 8th Korea Best Scenery
Baekdusan
Mountain in North Korea (NKR), Pyeongyang, Geumgangsan Mountain in NKR,
Myeohyeangsan Mountain in NKR, Bujeongowon Plateau in NKR, Jirisan Mountain in
South Korea (SKR), Haewundae Beach in SKR, Buguksa Temple in SKR.
2. Pyeongando Province Area in NKR.

Pyeongyang 8th Scenery: Wuimildae in Spring, Yangmyeongsa Temple,
Botongmun Gate, Boating at Geomun, Moon at Bubyeokru, Rain at Yeondang,
Evergreen Tree at Daeseongsan Mountain, Snow Water at Matan.
2-2)
Kwanseo 8th Scenery : Yeonkwangjung in Pyeongyang, Baesangru at
Anju, Gangseonru at Sungcheon, Yaksan Dongdae at Yeongbyeon, Donglim Water
Fall, Tonggunjeong at Ueiju, Ienpungru at Ganggye, Segeomjeong at Manpo.
2-3) Ueiju 8th
Scenery : Amrokgang River, Sun Rise at Songsan Mountain, Blue Cliff at
Yonghyeon, See Off at Omok Bridge, Evening Snow at Maeryeong Hill, Rain at
Badaeogu, Brown Reef, Hunting Game at Feild.

Haeju 8th Scenery : Suyangsan Mountain, Buyongdang, Shingwangsa
Temple, South Port, Washing Area at Gwangseokcheon River, Moon at Yonghearu,
See Off at Haewunjeong, Jisung Water Fall.

Pungcheon 8th Scenery : Spring Clunds at Chodo Island, Lotus at
Ssangmon Pond, Snow at Bakseoksan Mountain, Sadang at Mangdeoksan Mountain, Autumn
Moon at Eopcheongang River, Willow Tree at Street, Sound of CAheongrangsa
Temple, Taller Tree surrounding Gaekgwan.

Hamkyeondo Province Area in NKR
l Hueryeong 8th Scenery : Willow Treee at Hueryongcheon River,
Aumtumn Leaves at Wunduseong Castle, Fishing Touches at Dumangang River, Beautiful
Singing by Bukpyeong, Moon at Dongru Pavillion, Blue Fog at Wunduseong, Spring
Rain at Bongueisan Mountain, Sow at Osan Mountain.

Gangwondo province Area in SKR or NKR
l Gwandong 8th Scenery : Chongseokjeong at Dongcheun River in
NKR, Samilpo at Gosung in SKR, Naksansa at Yangyang in SKR, Kyeongpodae at
Gangreung in SKR, Cheongganjeong at Gansung in SKR, Jukseokru at Samcheok in
SKR, Manghyeangjeong at Uiljin in SKR, Wolseongjeong at Uljin in SKR.
l Gangneung 8th Scenery in SKR : Nokkyunru, Hansongjeong,
Kyeongpodae, Gulsanjeong, Ansinkye, Buwharu, Musidang, Kyeojodo.

l Songdo 8th Scenery : Jahadong Temple, Misty Rain at Buksan
Mountain, Beautiful Clouds at Beaksan Montian, Bawibyeorang Cliff at Jangdan.
See off at Cheongkyo Bridge, Blizzard at Seogang River, Twilight at Hwangkyeo
Bridge, Bakyeonpokpo Water Fall.

Scenery in SKR : Beautiful Mountain and River, Vastly Lined Up Stars to Pole
Star, Drilled Field at Dongmun Gate, Passengers at South Ferry Port, Palace
Knolls inside Fort Castle, Blue Hemp Cloth by Hanggan, Waiting Boat at Seogang
River, Horse Pasture at Suburb of Seoul.
7-2) Yeoju 8th Scenery in SKR : Rinning
Bell Sound at Shilreuksa Temple, Lighting at Fishery Boat at Maam Rock at South
Han River, Chimney Smoke at Hakdong, Returning Sailing Boat at Ferry, Wild
Geese Landing at Yang Island, Reflection Scenery of Deep Forest at River Side
in Ohakri, Cukoo Singging Sound at Youngreung (Sejong Great King Grave), Rain
Fall View at Pisa Fort Castle.

Chuncheong Province in SKR :

Hansan 8th
Scenery : Rock and Pine Tree at Songjeungsa Temple in
SKR, Deep Valley at Goseoksa Temple in SKR, Drum Sound at
Wonsan in NKR, Rock Cliff at Ilkwangsa Temple, High Peak at Heosa Temple,
Returning Sailing Boat at Jinpo Port, Fishing ay Ongjin
8-2) Danyang 8th
Scenery : This best scenery are comparable to Keumgansan Scenery which we used
to call the best scenery in Korea and outstandingly located and hidden at
branch of South Han River. They are all around within 8~12km from Danyang town
as Dodamsambong, Gudambong, Sainam, Oksunbong, Sangseonam, Jungseonam and
Haseonam.

Kyeongsan Province in SKR
l Munkeyong 8th Scenery : Shrine at Juheolsan Mountain, Paulanio
Tree and Maple Tree at Changpyeok, Jongru (Bell House) at Ojeong, Ladder Road
at Gwangapcheun River, Whillow Tree at Garden, White Snow at Hill,
Yeongdampokpo Water Fall.
10.Jeolra Province in SKR : Updated
10-1) Byeosan 8th Scenery : Woongyeonjodae
(Beautiful Sea Shore from Julpo to Gomso), Jiksopokpo (Water Fall), Sosamojeong
(Beautiful Blue Sea under Gwaneum Peak), Wolmyeongmuae (Clouded Byeonsan Sea
View at Wolmyeongam hermitage), Seohae Naljo (Sunset View at West Sea), Caesok
Beomju (Eroded Rock Cliff), Jiposhingyeong (Jipori View with surrounding
peaks), Gaeamgojeok (Oldest Temple under big Wugeum Rock).
10-2) Jinju 8th Scenery : Chokseoru,
Duibeolri, Jinyangho Twilight, Namgang Uiam, Saebeolri, Spring at Bibongsan
Mountain, unriing at Wolahsan Mountain, Bonginsan Mountain Bongsudae.
11.Others
There
are many other area which is designated at 8th best scenery in Korea
referring to relevant old records like Myeoheangsan, Gangdong, Samdeung,
Samcheok, Pyeunghae and so on. But I would not like to specify these others
since above mentioned scenery are already enough for the introduction of best scenery
in Korea. Some people are also insisting to add some others area as additional
best scenery which are somewhat different from this list.
