5. Overall Remarks.
There are five major hike courses climbing over 739.5m altitude
Shinseondae Summit at the Inside the Samgaksan (Bukhansan) (Mt.) national park,
there are lots of clean valleys among major rock peaks made of granite. It
gives a beautiful view, and there live over 10,300 species of animals and
plants inside. Also, it offers various historical and cultural relics including
Bukhansanseong (Fortress) which has the history of 2,000 years since the era of
3 States and over 100 temples and shrines. There are many hiking courses to
Bukhansan Mountain, Baekwundae Summit, 836m altitude. I choose Doseonsa Temple
Course which is the shortest and fast course but not so easy course taking
three hours from Doseonsa Temple to the Summit via Harujae Gorge and back to
Doseonsa Temple via Yongamun Gate. I took last Obong Peak Course today which I
ascend Shinseondae Summit through outstanding beautiful peaks like Yeoseongbong
Peak looks like Female symbol and Obong Peak from No. 1 to 5. Please see
relevant Photo and Video.
6. Detailed Course
Information
I was last night concerning
about weather tomorrow and checked weather, especially dust level and found today
fortunately dust level was normal and lowest temperature minus 7 degree C. I was
trying to go fast Doseonsa Temple and reached there before eight thirty morning
and hurry up hiking preparation at the parking lot. I moved to right and found
Baekwundae Park Ranger Post and checked hike course and decided to take short
course today explaining at above article 3. When I just walked to uphill for
about 10 minutes and reached first break place. But I did not take any break
and just checked the information at the place and keeping going on the rocky
and stone stair step road less than half an hour and met Harujae Gorge where I
could see beautiful Insubong Peak and took a nice shot as possible and found
landmark at the gorge stating as 1.4km to Baekwundae Summit and 200m to Insu Shelter
at Left and Youngbong Peak behind. I walked on ridge road for .about 10 minutes
and found Bukhansan Insu Shelter and its landmark; 1.25km to The Summit and
4.9km to Bukhansan Information Center at Right. There is small Insu Hermitage
just next the Shelter mentioning at its main gate as “Nothing as you are spiritually
immersed into Buddhism”. I was fully accepted and agreed that statement and
continued move up steeper rocky road for about 10 minutes more and saw very
steeply sloped wooden stairs and completely frozen stream at left and confirmed
winter are still in force and had to wait some more for coming spring. I was slowly
walking up on steep rocky road and sometime very slippery road due to ice for
20 minutes and reached Baekwun Sanjang (Mountain Cabin) where visitors could
take a break as well as buy light snack. I saw landmark at the corner of the
mountain cabin stating as 500m to the Summit and 1.7km to Bukhansan Information
Center at Left. I was hardly walking up the steep uphill rocky road for a
quarter minutes and met Bukhansan Ammun Junction where I could go to Baekwundae
Summit by 300m at Right and Yongamun Junction by 1.2km at straight. I turned
right at the junction and kept going up through steeper stairs and slippery rocky
road for about half an hour and finally touched down 836m altitude Baewundae
Summit and took a nice shot around view like remote three major peaks at the
Dobongsan Mountain at North and nearly Mankyungdae Peak and Nojeokbong Peak and
remote Obong Peak and Yeoseongbong Peak and etc. at South. Please refer to each
picture attached. I take short break on the way down and back to Bukhansan
Ammun Junction where I should turn right and keep walking down on the stairs
and reached junction; 1.3km to Bukhansan Shelter at Left and Bukhansan
information Center at right. I made left turn at the junction and carried on
the Mankyungdae Ridge road for about a quarter minutes and reached landmark at Nojeokbong
Peak, 716m altitude stating as 800m to Bukhansan Shelter at left. I walked on somewhat
highly sloped down road for a quarter minutes and reached Yongamun Junction;
1.1km to Yongamun Park Ranger Post at left and 200m to Bukhansan Shelter at
straight. As I started to move down and found this road was so highly sloped and
steeper though the valley and carefully and slowly downhill through somewhat
less sloped road along with stream for about 40 minutes and returned to the
parking lot.
