Recommemndable Barefoot Walking Course in Korea 1. Preface There are so many barefoot walking courses in Korea which have been recently constructed thanks for recent popular fashion to the people who is taking care of their healthy life. I have tried to select recommendable barefoot walking course in terms of course length, how much they reflect natural road conditions like a feeling as walking forest and cool shodow. I did not completly and finally sellect these recomendable nationwide courses yet. But I choose one by one and visiting there and after visiting I am going to intoroduce readers for possible intresting contents. 2. Kangseo Wetland Ecological Park in Seoul This park is situated at Banghwa Dong Area in Kangseo Gu in Seoul between Southren End of Banghwa Great Bridge and Southren End of Heangju Great Bridge at Han River and spread about 370,000 m2. This park has been has been announced in 2002 as ecological and landscape preservation area. This parks is mainly consiting with reed and willow field where many migratory birds and endangerouse animal are living in these field. This is the main reason why Government want to preserve this park. For access this park is a bit inconvinient and not so easy to reach this park from anywhere since public transportation is not so easily available. You could either use owen driving a car or take a taxi from subway station, Yangcheon Haengkyo at Line No. 9. The distance from the station to the Park is about 787m. You could walk but somewhat difficult to take a right way for beginer or foreigner.

3. Walking Course at Kangseo Wetland Ecological Park. The Walking Road at this park was not for barefoot walking course but for normal walking. I have been in this park several times before and know we could possibly walk with barefoot, even some minor problem like light pressure pain on foot when walkIng some limited area. I beleve there would not be any major difficulty for barefoot walking. So I decided to exercise brefoot waking at this park. 3-1) Date and Time : September 12, 2025. 10:30 ~ 13:00 (2 and half an hour for round wlaking) including some break and lunch on the way. 3-2) Course Introduction It is estimated about total 6.2km distance and 8,500 steps and turning back to original starting point at about middle of this distance, 3.1km where walking course at this park was ended and extended to an other course, not recommendable barewalking course. I decided to go back to the original starting point at this extension junction. 3-3 Visiting Story I parked the at Parking Lot in the Kangseo Wetland Ecological Park and started to walk dirt road with walking shoes and met threeway junction near-by the parking lot as see at the photo attached, “Junction between Healing Square at Right and Walking course at Left”. When I walked 3 to 4 minutes, I found Kangseo Wetland Ecological Park Information Center as see at the photo “ Information Center for Kangseo Wetland Park at Left”. I found overview of the Kangseo Wetland Ecological Park near the Information Center as see at relevant photo enclosed. Yo could see Kangseo Trail Course 3 Road at right in this photo. But this road was unfortunately and temperally closed due to repaire works. I alternatively took the bike and car road as see at relevant photo attached and walked. As I walked about three minutes from Information Board, I found very small pass at right as see at relevant photo attached. I was rejoining to Kangseo Trail course 3, dirt road. I still walked with sport shoes since i looks road condition was not proper for barefoot walk. As I walked about three minutes on the Trail Course 3 for about 3 minutes, I met first bench where I took off the shoes and starting to walk with barefoot. When I walked about 7~10 minutes. I found break place where we could take a break unbder cool shadow as see at the photo enclosed. I was actively walking on the course and entertained natural atmosfere and mood as see at the photo attached as “Continue to Barefoot Walk on the Dirt Road”. I could meet the Kangseo Trail 3 Sign after about 3 minutes waking where dirt road was changed to clay block road. As I waked with barefoot for 3 minutes, I reached threeway junction and took rightside road at the junction. When I walked about a minute, I reached break place and possible to observe the variouse birds around. You could meet the obseration deck where you could see the Observation Deck where you could aee the Haengju Sansung, mountain wall, crossing over Han River as well as weland scenery just in front, when you wak about a minute more. Please see relevant Photo attached. You could see threeway junction again as seen at relevant photo attched, when you walk for about 5 minutes more. Please trun right at the junction. As walk about 2 minutes more, you could meet an other observation deck and practically see natural wetland without any artificial works. When you walk for two minutes more, you could see Haengju Great Bridge and simply passing the bridge and keep on barefoot walking. You could meet sign informing 14 km from Yeouido location where Korea national assembly house is. When you walk for about 15 minutes, you could reach finishing point of Kangseo Trail Course 3 and contineousely extending to Kangseo Trail Course 1. I decided to go back to the original starting point becouse Kangseo Trail Course 1 is not proper for barefoot walking. When you walk for about 12 mintes more, you could pass Haengju Great Bridge again where several athletic devices are available. You could see Crossing Point at Haengjunaru Quay where UN multinational military was crossing over Han River for recaaopturing Seoul form North Korea Army. Please see the relevant photo. When you were walking back to original starting point for about 10 minutes, you could see the Forest Break where you could take a short break without any interference, just enjoy pure natural entertainment. Please see relevant photo enclosed. You could ultimately retrn first bench where shioes were, when you kalk continiousely for about an hour. Please refer to relevant photos attached. As you walk down for about 10 minutes miore, you could reach Bird Observation Point, hidden observation at ground level and open obsevation at first floor. You could find Landscape Oservatory Photo which you could see several landmark points as see relevant photo attached. I looked left at the first floor and found nice view of Haengjhu Great Bidge and left beautiful photo as attached hereto. I finally back to the original starting point at the parking lot after two and half an hour walking and possible to going back to home.
